Grand prix for SOLO
Grand Prix "Mira Trailović" for the best performance as a whole at the Bitef Festival
The 56th Bitef festival was held under the slogan We — the Heroes of Our Own Labour, and presented nine productions from Germany, Belgium, France, Mexico, Serbia, Slovenia, and Great Britain. The central topic focused on labour, the labour market after the pandemic, workers’ rights, as well as working conditions in performing arts. It was closed by the performance Crises by Žiga Divjak. The show was co-produced by The New Post Office (Maska and Mladinsko — Ljubljana), Bitef (Belgrade) and Udruga Domino (Zagreb) as a part of the project ACT — Art, Climate, Transition, a European cooperation project connecting art and activism with ecology and just transition.
The first Grand Prix goes to "a courageous, passionate, and unique exploration of the basic questions of theatre in our present, reaching out to the past and to the future, posed to us with wild energy by four extraordinary thinkers, authors, and performers. We were invited to an exciting and risky journey through self-reflection, conflicts, memories, images, poems, and myths, taking us to different spaces and formats of theatre, ending in a celebration of togetherness and of our own human imperfection". (From Bitef Jury Statement)
Congratulations to Solo by Nina Rajić Kranjac, Nataša Keser, Benjamin Krnetić, Marko Mandić, and the rest of the artistic team.
