Claire Lefèvre: The Fuller Picture
- Izvedba: Claire Lefèvre
The Fuller Picture is a low-tech, high-drama performative lecture in which Claire juxtaposes archival research with intimate storytelling to shine a light on systematic erasures in dance history. Questioning her performance lineage with care, critique, and suspicion, Claire unveils the straightened and whitewashed legacy of modern dance in general, and of the lesbian choreographer Loïe Fuller in particular.
Claire Lefèvre (she/her) is a femme choreographer, insomniac writer and reality TV enthusiast living and working in Vienna. She likes to think of herself as a hostess, welcoming collaborators and spectators into kitsch landscapes where politics and poetics are gently interwoven. Alongside her choreographic works, Claire is exploring the archetype and working methods of a performance doula, a role imagined to disinvisibilize care work in the context of performance making. Her work with text spans from poetry to grant applications, at times flirting with performance criticism, stand-up comedy or queer feminist theory. Occasionally she works as a ghost writer, but mostly because of the spectral appeal of the job title.
