Ann-Christin Kongsness: Gender Performativity (workshop)

Thursday / 12 Nov / 15:30 / Upper hall / Free entry

Building on Kongsness` experiences and discoveries from her work with the drag king group Gutta and the performance series Butch Tribute, which engage with queer female masculinity as a framework and starting point, we will move on to the broader idea of gender performativity. From a queer perspective, we will draw on tools and strategies from both choreographic and drag practices, not only in relation to gender and sexuality, but also to question and becomes aware of recurring patterns of all kinds in our work.

Ann-Christin Kongsness (1987) is a Norwegian dancer, choreographer, writer, and drag king based in Oslo (NO). In recent years, her work has adopted a more explicitly queer perspective. She has been a founding member of the drag king collective Gutta since 2018 and is currently developing the performance series Butch Tribute (2021).

Led by: Ann-Christin Kongsness
