Klemen Kovačič

Actor Klemen Kovačič (1998) graduated in 2022 with the role of Gregor in Yagababa. Even before, when he was still a student at the Academy of Theatre Film Radio and Television (UL), collaborated with the Mladinsko Theatre and other Slovenian theatres (Ljubljana City Theatre, SNT Nova Gorica, Ljubljana Puppet Theatre, Glej Theatre). He is also interested in devised theatre: as one of the founding members of the Počemučka Collective, he co-created, among other productions, Under Construction (Glej Theatre) which won a Special Jury Award at the 52nd Week of Slovenian Drama, as well as Awards for Acting and Animation and Best Performance at the 12th Biennial of Puppetry Artists of Slovenia. In 2022, he created a solo project Unmade Room (Razmetana soba, Ljubljana puppet Theatre). He appeared in Vinko Moderndofer’s film Deadlock (Zastoj, 2021). He regularly works for Television Slovenia (in programmes for young audiences and cartoon dubbing) and literary programmes on radio Slovenia. In 2020 he received the Stane Sever Foundation Award for students of acting as well as the Academy Prešeren Award for his role of Hamlet in the student production of Towards Hamlet Genotype (H genotipu Hamlet).
